The Indian Muslim Girl’s Perspective aka IMGP is a series I want to commit to talking about events I went through being in this specific ethnicity. It’s not targeted to this particular community, but to anyone who can relate to me and get a sense of relief that they are not alone with what they are going through.
In a year after leaving my house, my family (but not cutting ties), I feel like I’ve learnt a lot about the life around me (friends and work), the toxicity of my family and the community … and mostly ME. I feel being Indian, you’re just brought up in the drama – and that’s exactly how I left my house — a dramatic exit in the middle of the night at 2 am with all my belongings.
